East Valley High School & Extension Reviews

“I know from experience that East Valley does not help- there students. The academic programs are not that good. And the ones that they have are not well thought out to help the students. The students that need help with graduation are not made to go to the programs. The extracurricular activities are pretty good but not that many students participate in them. The parent involvement is not at all good. Most of the parents do not get involved in there students school life. This school does not care about buying books for the class room. Instead most of the money that we do have goes to sports. And just presently East Valley lots tons of money so we are not able to get the things that we need.” This review was posted by a student.

“I feel that EVHS is lacking greatly in student accountability. Our son is being permitted to flunk out, and we have been told repeatedly that the teachers and counselor's hands are tied. They won't even make him stay after school to complete work! There are no reprocussions for his actions at school, and at this point he doesn't care about graduation. What ever happened to schools requiring respect from their students?” This review was posted by a parent.

“They don't care that you have already told them what the plan [is] for your child's education. I feel that this school works to purge students that they don't want to work with.” This review was posted by a parent.

“I love this school. I've learned so much and feel that the teachers are willing to help anytime that I need their help. The administraters, counsolors and office employees make it a point to know something about me. This is an atmosphere I hope all students have had the privledge to be in.” This review was posted by a student.

“I believe that the school tries very hard to keep the children interested. I do know from experience that some teachers are very intuned with what teens need. I wish that the teachers were sometimes a bit more interactive with the children's lives though. I felt that so many questions went through my mind and there wasn't always someone to ask what I wanted to know. They were so focused on what was in the lesson plan for the day that the option of what we really wanted to know got left behind. I do know that children learn best when they are learning about something that interests them. They may be something to think about.” This review was posted by a former student.
