Schmoe is ready to provide a full evening of original music, or a blend of original and cover tunes in the R & B, Rock, Blues, & Funk genres.
Jay Goodell hails from Elk, WA via Portland (Gresham) Oregon. He is the proverbial vocal powerhouse one moment, soulful and moving the next, and his musical abilities are exceptional on a number of instruments.
Eric Bennett grew is from the SF Bay area (Alameda), formerly of Sweet Fancy Moses, from Spokane, WA. after a number of uears with with the UC Berkeley, CA Favorite Indie band Simon. He adds meter to the madness and sometimes the other way around.
Tim Votroubek is the newest member of the band, he plays on a Triton Keyboard. From Hammond/Leslie cab sound to string sections, Grand Piano, etc.
Dennis Higgins also hails from Concord, Ca. His guitar mastery is evident in each note he skillfully exocutes. Dennis is also a skilled multi-instrumentalist. He recently competed in Guitar Center's Blues 2006 Contest "Guitarmageddon", and place 1st in Spokane, and 2nd place Statewide at the competition in Seattle, WA.
Immediately after the tragic date 0f September 11, Bennett was paired up with Jay Goodell by College Road Records to record a version of Judas Preist's "United We Stand" for Northwest Radio.
This is when these two decided to to form the band Schmoe. This lineup plays live regularly, and is always recording. You never know what's next!
Recently performed at "Best of the Best Inland Northwest" at Bravo Entertainment's Big Easy Concerthouse in Spokane, selected as one of three bands from 20 winners, (over 200 submissions)
We are session/performing musicians from the west coast, with hundreds of recording credits for various artists of many styles. This band everyone agrees "really really rocks the house!" says Wade Thames, College Road Recording Owner and President.
