Dealerships have a cutoff date they all work with. Even though some models may have run into more recent years, not all parts are available. This makes it difficult to do a quality job, if we can not get everything we need, we can't do the job we set out to. Secondly most older bikes, 20 years or so are usually valued pretty low, maybe $500-$2000. It is difficult to explain to a customer that it is going to cost $600 to fix his $1200 bike. Dealers don't really want to turn your work away, but they truly do have your best interest at heart.
