Ok so the food was good, atleast my meal, my dad took me and the family there for my birthday, he ordered a chili reliano, deep fried breded with cheeze and a chilli inside, when he cut into it with his fork a terrible smell filled the area, but he thought thats what they must smell like he took a bite and it was moldy!!, but hes a really nice guy he wanted to be sure that he just wasnt unsatisfied with his meal so he passed it around the table and it was horrible you could literally taste the mold! We called our waiter and told him about it we all testified to it, he replied, but sir nobody else has complained about it, again everyone at the table said its moldy we can all taste it, he went to get the manager or another waiter, he said wever been serving these all day we hand make them and no one else has complained. well we kept trying but we got nowhere, we werent offered a refund we werent offered another one, just a little mold in the cheese, thats completely understandable but they treated us like we were stupid, i do not reccomend anyone return to this azteca. Even though i love azteca ive never returned to once since after being treated like we were idiots it completely ruined the trip for everyone, that was the only thing we did for my birthday everone else was pissed off enought that we just drove strait home.

Pros: good food

Cons: horrible service

If you are from the SW, you may be disappointed

This is a clean, ok priced restaurant. However being that I lived in NM for 15 years it is not that great. I am still looking for authentic Mexican food and after eating at Azteca I am still searching. My husband was born and raised on Mexican food and his comment was he would rather eat at Taco Bell. So the search is still on! Authentic Green and Red Chili has to be somewhere other than NM.

Pros: Priced Ok, Good Drinks, Ok Service

Cons: Not authentic, No Red/Green Chili, just ok

Best Mexican in town (downtown)

I have eaten alot of Mexican food and think this is one of the best places in Spokane you can get a Mexican dish. It is an amazing dichotomy though; the downtown location has good service, super food and a wonderfully festive atmosphere. The valley location has terrible service, detestable conditions (my clean water glass still had another woman's lipstick on it when I took a sip once, and I won't even start to talk about the service...) and mediocre food. Eat downtown and avoid the valley location like the plague.

Pros: Downtown is great

Cons: Valley location stink
